The repair shop here at Pioneer has been owned and operated
by Jim Prior since the mid 1970s. Jim built and repaired instruments
in the late 50s and early 60s before turning his hobby into
a profession. He's an accomplished painter, and a wooden boat
builder as well. This wealth of knowledge combined with a keen
eye for traditional aesthetics has created a well-earned, nation-wide
reputation for fine repair and restoration work.
We're able to offer expert warranty and set-up service on all
makes sold here at the store, and since we don't send out any
repairs, or use any apprentice workers, our customers are assured
of top-notch work. Making sure your instrument plays to it's
full potential, whether it's an inexpensive student model, or
a rare pre-war Martin, is a big priority around here, and another
reason why experienced players know and trust the folks at Pioneer.
